Smoking Wood Chunks – Olive 900 gr
Give lamb, chicken, fish, and vegetables a mild, spicy Mediterranean smoky flavor with Olive wood chunks. The large pieces of 100% pure olive wood produce smoke for a long time and evenly, making them ideal for extended low & slow cooking.

How do you build your Titan from the inside?
That’s quite a lot of parts. So here is the step-by-step sequence.
Olive wood smoking chunks for a long-lasting Mediterranean smoky flavor
Long-lasting smoke with a Mediterranean character
Olive smoke wood chunks give dishes a mild, spicy smoky aroma with a distinctive Mediterranean touch. The chunks are made from 100% pure olive wood and contain no additives or treatments.
The wood is dried slowly and naturally for an even, clean smoke development. Due to their larger size, the chunks continue to smoke longer than fine chips. This makes them ideal for extended low & slow sessions where the flavor can build gradually.
What does olive wood smoke taste like?
Olive wood has a refined and aromatic smoke profile. The smoke is mild, slightly spicy and warm in character, making this type of wood an excellent match for Mediterranean ingredients and herbs.
The aroma is subtle enough to preserve the natural flavor of the dish, yet pronounced enough to give meat, fish and vegetables a distinctive extra layer of flavor.
Which dishes pair well with Olive smoke wood chunks?
Olive wood pairs excellently with:
- Leg of lamb and lamb shoulder
- Chicken and other poultry
- Fish and shellfish
- Large cuts of pork
- Stuffed vegetables
- Potatoes
- Mediterranean oven dishes
- Cheese
Combine the smoke with garlic, rosemary, thyme, oregano, lemon or olive oil for a complete Mediterranean flavor profile.
For delicate ingredients such as fish and shellfish, preferably use one smaller chunk. This adds a subtle smoky flavor without overpowering the dish.
How to use Olive smoke wood chunks
First bring the kamado or barbecue to the desired temperature. Then place one or more chunks between or directly on the glowing charcoal. The chunks do not need to be soaked in water beforehand.
Place the chunks in different positions when you want to develop smoke gradually during a longer cook. Then close the lid and keep the vents partially open for a clean burn.
Thin, light-blue smoke generally produces the most refined flavor. Avoid prolonged, thick white smoke, as it can cause a harsh or bitter taste.
Ideal for low & slow
Because of their larger size, smoking wood chunks release smoke over a longer period. This makes them particularly suitable for leg of lamb, whole chicken, large cuts of meat, and other dishes that cook at a low temperature for an extended period.
For quick cooks such as fish fillets, shrimp, and grilled vegetables, fine smoking wood chips are often easier to dose. Read more about the difference on the page smoking wood chips or chunks.
How many smoking wood chunks do you need?
Start with one or two chunks, depending on the size of the pieces, the cooking time, and the desired smoke intensity. Olive wood has a mild profile, but during a long cook, the smoky flavor can continue to build.
More smoking wood does not automatically mean a better result. Start with restraint and adjust the amount to your personal taste during your next cook.
100% pure and naturally dried olive wood
The Olive smoking wood chunks are made entirely from pure olive wood. No artificial flavors, additives, or chemical treatments have been used. The natural drying process supports even smoke development without unwanted off-flavors.
Combine the chunks with quality kamado charcoal for a stable fire, long burn time, and precise temperature control.
