Maintenance and replacement parts for your kamado

Maintain your Kamado for years of use

Regular maintenance helps keep your Kamado clean, safe, and working properly. Grease, ash, and food residue can build up in the barbecue over time. By removing this residue regularly and checking components in good time, you keep the airflow clear and maintain control over the temperature.

In this collection, you will find practical maintenance products and available replacement parts for your Titan Kamado.

Catch grease and moisture with a drip pan

A steel drip pan catches grease, moisture, and meat juices before they reach the heat deflector or charcoal. This keeps the inside of the Kamado cleaner and reduces unwanted smoke caused by burning grease.

The 36 × 36 × 4 cm Titan Kamado steel drip pan provides sufficient capacity for larger cuts of meat and long cooking sessions. Use the pan for pulled pork, brisket, chicken, roulade, and other dishes that release grease or moisture.

Using a drip pan during indirect barbecuing

For indirect cooking, place the drip pan under the grill grate and above the heat deflector. Make sure air can continue to circulate around the pan. Completely blocking the airflow can affect the temperature distribution in the Kamado.

You can use the drip pan empty to catch grease, or add a small amount of water or another liquid when this suits the chosen cooking method. Do not overfill the pan, so hot liquid cannot easily spill over the edge.

Use suitable heat-resistant BBQ gloves when working near hot grates and accessories.

Removing ash from the Kamado

Always allow the Titan Kamado to cool completely after use. Then regularly remove the ash from the bottom of the barbecue. An accumulation of ash can restrict the airflow, making the charcoal more difficult to light and the temperature less easy to control.

Also check that the openings in the fire basket are clear. Do not use water to extinguish hot charcoal or ash in the ceramic kamado.

Cleaning the grill grate and accessories

Remove food residue from the grill grate while it is still warm, but no longer extremely hot. Use suitable BBQ tools.

Always allow pizza stones, heat deflectors and other ceramic accessories to cool down gradually. Large temperature differences and cold water can cause thermal stress and damage the ceramic.

Do not use harsh cleaning products inside the kamado. The ceramic can absorb odors and substances that may be released again during a subsequent preparation.

Check components regularly

Periodically check the gasket, ventilation components, hinges, fasteners, fire basket and ceramic components. Look for wear, loose fasteners and cracks that could affect operation or safety.

Not every minor superficial change means that a component needs to be replaced immediately. However, replace components when they affect the safe operation, sealing or temperature control of the kamado.

Protecting and storing the kamado in a dry place

Use a suitable cover when the kamado is left outdoors for an extended period. Make sure the barbecue has cooled down completely and is dry before covering it. Moisture trapped under a cover can cause condensation and damage to metal or wooden components.

Also clean the side tables, the stand and the metal parts regularly according to the corresponding maintenance instructions.
