Electric lighter for kamado and BBQ
Lighting your kamado with electricity
With an electric BBQ lighter, you can light your kamado's charcoal quickly, cleanly, and in a controlled manner. The powerful, focused stream of hot air makes the charcoal glow within a few minutes. This means you do not need lighter fluid, a gas burner, or other chemical aids.
Electric lighting is especially suitable for outdoor cooks who barbecue regularly and want to get started without lengthy preparation.
Electric BBQ lighter without an open flame
The Titan Kamado Looftlighter uses hot air to ignite the charcoal. First, hold the lighter close to the charcoal until a small glowing spot appears. Then pull the device back slightly and use the airflow to fan the fire further.
Because no gas or lighter fluid is used, no unwanted chemical odors or flavors are produced. This preserves the natural flavor of the charcoal and the ingredients on the barbecue.
Lighting your kamado for different cooking methods
For low & slow cooking, it is usually sufficient to light the charcoal in one spot. The fire then slowly spreads through the coals, allowing you to keep the temperature low and stable.
Want to grill, sear, or bake pizza? Light the charcoal in two or three spots. This creates a larger fire more quickly and allows the kamado to reach a high temperature more easily.
When lighting, open the lower air intake and the ventilation at the top of the Titan Kamado. Gradually close them as the desired temperature is approached.
Which charcoal do you use with an electric lighter?
An electric BBQ lighter can be used with various types of natural charcoal. Large pieces of charcoal provide good airflow, while smaller pieces help the fire spread quickly.

Electric lighting or firelighters?
An electric lighter is the fastest choice when you barbecue near a power outlet. You use the same device every time and do not need any loose fuel.
Don't have a power outlet near the barbecue or want to keep a compact lighting method on hand? Then firelighter cubes are a practical alternative.
